More About The Amazing Band...
The Patriots Symphonic Band, with 70 + volunteer musicians from 23 Lorain County communities.
The performance begins at 7:00 p.m. and is free. There is no formal seating in Union School Park; so, come early with lawn chairs and blankets. If you bring a shade umbrella or pop up tent since there are no shade trees in the park yet- We ask that you try to not impede the bulk of the crowd from seeing the band.
The family oriented concert features a wide range of repertoire, including patriotic selections, popular music, Broadway show tunes, and "Big-Band" favorites.
The Patriots Symphonic Band, Northern Ohio's largest non-profit, all-volunteer musical ensemble, has members ranging in age from teenagers to octogenarians. The Patriot Band members are amateur and professional musicians who enjoy playing music as a pastime. Formed in 1977 under the sponsorship of VFW Post 1079 in Elyria, the Patriots Symphonic Band plays both indoor and outdoor concerts throughout the year. The band strives to preserve "Americana," performing like an old-time, hometown concert band. The performance also features talented instrumental and vocal soloists.
The rain location for the concert is The Patricia Lindley Center for Performing Arts.
