WHEW!
This year will be pretty amazing.
Independent We Stand will be in Wellington late July 2 and 3 to interview businesses and community partners to create a video that shows the world why we won America's Main Street Contest for 2019.

We thought that the annual Ice Cream Social [in Honor of Bill Brumfield] and the Patriot's Symphonic Band Concert was the best way to celebrate our BIG WIN.

The free, "Old Fashioned, Ice Cream Social" sponsored by Apples, Village Market, and Velvet Ice Cream Starts at 6:00 p.m.  Come early to make sure you get a cone or cup.

At 6:30, Main Street Wellington will receive their award.

At 7:00 p.m. the Patriot's Symphonic Band Concert begins. Sponsored by Mike Sunderman with Edward Jones.

The rain location for the concert is The Patricia Lindley Center for Performing Arts located at 627 N. Main St. [behind Wellington High School]

For information, contact Main Street Wellington, Inc. at 440-647-3987.

At dusk, the Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce presents the Fireworks Show to cap off a great evening.  The Chamber also coordinates the July 4th festivities.

More About The Amazing Band...

The Patriots Symphonic Band, with 70 + volunteer musicians from 23 Lorain County communities, will perform a concert in the southern portion of Howk Park in downtown Wellington [Willard Memorial Square]
The performance begins at 7:00 p.m. and is free. There is no formal seating in Howk Park; so, come early with lawn chairs and blankets.

The family oriented concert features a wide range of repertoire, including patriotic selections, popular music, Broadway show tunes, and "Big-Band" favorites.

The Patriots Symphonic Band, Northern Ohio's largest non-profit, all-volunteer musical ensemble, has members ranging in age from teenagers to octogenarians. The Patriot Band members are amateur and professional musicians who enjoy playing music as a pastime. Formed in 1977 under the sponsorship of VFW Post 1079 in Elyria, the Patriots Symphonic Band plays both indoor and outdoor concerts throughout the year. The band strives to preserve "Americana," performing like an old-time, hometown concert band. The performance also features talented instrumental and vocal soloists.

The rain location for the concert is The Patricia Lindley Center for Performing Arts.
