With Art Sale Benefitting Lorain County Office on Aging
6-8 p.m. Opening Show Elms Retirement Village 136 South Main St. Wellington
View over 30 one-of-a kind paintings by L Jean, an award winning artist from South Texas. L Jean, also known as, Linda Hanks has over 300 pieces in her gallery that range from nature and landscapes, to detailed portraits, many of people with Native American descent, or Southwestern roots.
We became familiar with L Jean when she was a part of the Fall Gallery Walk coordinated by Shannon Meeks, Main Street Wellington's President and creator of Wellington Arts. She invited us to see her studio this spring. Her paintings and stories are enchanting and we decided that she would be perfect for the first Gallery Show.
Linda's granddaughter Brittany Knight is the Coordinator for the Southern Satellite Office for the Lorain County Office on Aging and so it was decided that 20% of the profits from any sale of her paintings during this show will be donated to LCOO.
The Gallery and Show is a collaboration between Main Street Wellington, Wellington Arts, Lorain County Office on Aging, and Elms Retirement Village/Sprenger.
We are also working with Lorain County Community College- Mandel Grant/Fine Arts and Humanities to mentor an intern or two.
