The Salvation Army - Wellington Service Unit
The Salvation Army was created in 1869 as an international movement to help those in need.
It is an evangelical part of the Universal Christian Church with a message based on the bible. Their mission is to preach the gospel and to meet human need in His name and without discrimination.
The Wellington Service Unit is a social service agency that helps community members with emergency rent, utilities, and basic household items. They also coordinate the Angel Tree program at Christmas to collect clothing, and toys for local families.
Besides supporting The Salvation Army with monetary donations, they also need volunteers to ring the bell for their red kettle campaign from mid November through December.
Consider ringing the bell each year with friends and family. Make it a Christmas or New Year tradition to give back!
The office is located at 181 East Herrick Ave.
Their office is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
